Performative Inquiry

George Belliveau has been engaging in a/r/tographic research for over a decade. He is a professionally trained actor and has worked professionally in the theatre as an actor, director and playwright. He also spent 7 years as a secondary theatre and English teacher working in a variety of schools and directing a number of school productions. His research most often involves a performative element where the art form of theatre is used as as form of inquiry and dissemination.

A number of his arts-based research projects closely examine the tensions, overlaps and spaces between the artist, researcher and teacher, These projects are most often collaborative working closely with community partners, graduate students and colleagues to artistically explore the research through theatre. He has performed his a/r/tographic theatre research around the world as an invited speaker (Auckland, NZ; Sydney, AU; Samos, GR; Paris, FR, among others.)
